This school has more than 400 children, some of whom have to walk up to 20 km to school and 20 km home again. It has only 5 teachers, but one boy achieved A plus in his last exam and has gone to university. With the desks for Unity School (below), the €1,000 sent from Lanzarote has now been used up, but there is need for many more desks including desks and chairs for the teachers, so we sent out another €2,000.

The children long to learn. They have never had a chance, but it is hard for us to imagine the task of the teachers, who mostly have nothing more than a blackboard. Every desk we pay for helps their work and shows we care.

Jack and Layla, shown on the left with their certificates, raised a fantastic 236 euros in sponsorship by participating in this years Iron Kids competition on 21st May.

Also, Peter Dalkin, who due to injury was sadly unable to take part in the Iron Man competition, kindly hosted a party at which Jackie Lee received donations for a total of 30 desks for the schools in Kenya (450 euros). A huge thank you to everyone for their effort and support.
